Emile Pitre, 96, of Shediac passed away at the Moncton Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, December 5, 2024. Born in Bouctouche, he was the son of the late Albert and Elizabeth (LeBlanc) Pitre.

He retired from the Armed Forces having served for over 28 years. He was the recipient of several medals and one being of the Order of Military Merit.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Delima, née Aucoin; his two children: Shirley Williams (James) of Windsor ON and Alvin of Shediac; three grandchildren: Harrison, Victoria and Spencer; two sisters-in-law: Yvonne Pitre of PEI and Zélia Pitre of Saint-John.

As per Emile’s wishes, a private service will be held.

In memory of Emile, a donation to Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 33, Shediac would be appreciated.

Cremation and funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Shediac (506 532-3297).
