Today we have the sorrow of sharing the peaceful passing of Gail Muriel Christie, 81, in the early morning hours at The Moncton Hospital on November 16, 2024. Mummy, Googie and Nan C was a huge part of our lives and saying goodbye is surreal.

Gail was born and grew up in Saint John, NB, and was the daughter of the late Richard and Dorcas (Power) Quartley. She still cherished friendships formed years ago.  A wonderfully independent woman who wore many hats, she was a teacher of English, a sales manager for Sara Coventry and small business co-owner of Audio Data, here in Moncton, NB.  Her favourite role of all was that of mother, mother-in-law and grandmother at which she excelled.

She was kind and loving, giving and vibrant with the keenest sense of humour wink, wink.  Gail loved playing games, board and digital, as well as word puzzles.  She loved music - ABBA anyone? - and reading, being an avid Diana Gabaldon fan, Oh, and cooking!!! Social media was something she completely embraced.  Reconnecting with friends, joining groups for common interests: games, entertainment, novels, but she especially loved her General Hospital Fans Official Group, and made many friends across North America.  Making friends was easy and effortless for her.  She cherished outings and walks, but most of all chats with friends, cousins, and her much loved children and grandson who are truly her pride and joy.

She will be sadly missed by her two children: Andrew (Cindy) and Susan Chiasson (Neil); grandson, Matthew; as well as many cousins, extended family and friends.

A celebration of Gail’s life will be held at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) on Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 1 to 3 pm. In memory of Gail, a contribution to Parkinson Canada or Diabetes Canada would be appreciated.
