Michael James Murphy, 79, of Riverview, passed away on Sunday November 17, 2024 at Hospice SENB Albert House in Moncton. Born in Halifax, NS, he was the son of the late Robert W. and Eileen (Casey) Murphy.

Mike started his career as a member of the Moncton Police Force for seven years. Prior to his retirement, he was a self-employed contractor. He was a former president of the Canadian Celiac Association (Moncton Chapter).

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patricia (Gallant); two daughters: Pamela "Pam" Cormier (Darren) of Oromocto and Jacqueline "Jackie" Murphy of Riverview; two grandchildren: Justin Cormier (Melissa) of Salisbury and Sarah Billard (Kurt) of Oromocto; four great-grandchildren: Kinsley, Abigail, Elizabeth, and Annabelle; as well as his nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Robert E. Murphy, and his sister, Joanne McLean.

Thank you to the doctors, nurses, support staff and volunteers of Albert House for the wonderful care and love given to Mike during his stay.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) from where the funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday November 23 at 11 am. Visiting hours are Saturday from 9:30 am until time of funeral service. Interment will be at Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of Mike, a contribution to Hospice SENB (Albert House) would be appreciated.
