Léo Joseph Belliveau, 89, of Moncton, passed away suddenly on Friday October 18, 2024, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born in Saint-Paul, he was the son of the late Calixte and Lina (Gaudet) Belliveau.

Since 1952, Léo was the owner of Belliveau’s Auto Sales for over 70 years and was still actively working until the end.

He is survived by five daughters: Louise Gallant (Emile) of Notre-Dame, Norma Drisdelle (Paul), Francine LeBlanc (Leonard), Denise Belliveau (Claire), and Yvette Love (late Terry), all of Moncton; his special friend, Elsie Constantine; as well as nine grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

He was predeceased by his wife, Pauline Gallant (2000); his son, Léo-Paul (1992); one daughter, Jeanne Belliveau (2000); and four siblings: Alcide, Roger, Normand, and Thelma Babineau.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude towards the doctors and nurses for their wonderful care provided to Léo.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) from where the funeral service will be held on Friday October 25 at 11 am. Visiting hours are Friday from 9:30 am until time of funeral. Interment will be at Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of Léo, a contribution to the CHU Dumont Foundation (oncology) or the Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation (oncology) would be appreciated.
