Roger Doiron, 97, of the Villa Providence and formerly of Cap-Pelé passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday October 15, 2024. Born in Cap-Pelé, he was the son of Adélard and Elizabeth (Duguay) Doiron.

He is survived by his nine children: Claudette Vautour (Louis Bourque), Jeannette Gagné (late Fernand), Russel (Rose), Gérald (Marjorie), Hélène Léger (Bernard), Jacqueline Richard (André), Alice Porelle (Edgar), Hector (Linda) and Bernadette McGraw (Léo); 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Émilia Boudreau (late Gérald), Léontine LeBlanc (Léonard LeBlanc), Alva LeBlanc (late Émile); two brothers: Philippe (Géralda) and Jean-Louis (Donalda), as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marie-Jeannine Boudreau (2019); two sons: Hubert and Réginald; a sister, Yvonne LeBlanc (late Donald); brothers: Albert (late Marie), Alfred (late Eileen), Théobald (late Géraldine), Yvon (late Dorothy) and Father Ulysse.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Providence Unit at Villa Providence. We greatly appreciated the care given to our father.
The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 2642 Acadie Road Cap-Pelé on Tuesday October 22 from 2 pm to 4 pm and from 7 pm to 9 pm and on Wednesday from 9:15 am until time of departure (10:15 am). The funeral mass will be celebrated at the Ste-Thérèse-d’Avila R. C. Church, 2648 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé on Wednesday October 23 at 10:30 am. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. The funeral mass will be videotaped, and the video will be available on Roger’s obituary on our website by the end of the day.
In memory of Roger, a donation to the "Comité d'Entraide Paroisse Ste-Thérèse-d'Avila" or the Joseph Storehouse food bank in Cap-Pelé would be appreciated.
