Edith Bourque of Shediac passed away at the Villa
Providence on Tuesday October 15, 2024 surrounded by her loving
family. Born in Scoudouc, she was the daughter of the late Dominique
and Zelica (Gaudet) Léger. She was the last surviving
member of her immediate family.
She treasured time spent with family and friends. A
very sociable and community minded person, she served as a volunteer
at the Villa Providence for over 45 years. She had 25 years perfect
attendance with the Shediac Lionettes and also served on many
committees and organizations throughout her
life.
She is survived by her
daughters: Roberte Bourgeois (Bernard) of Dieppe, Doris Pellerin
(Daniel) of Saint-Thomas, and Odette Léger (Richard) of
Shediac; grandchildren: Mathieu (Stacey), Natalie, Julie, Emilie
(Adrien), Stéphanie (Antoine); great-grandchildren: Kaleb,
Sophie, Nikolas, Magalie, Jacob, Alexis, and Raphaël; sisters
in-law: Emerise Bourque (late Louis), Ernestine Targett (Arnold), and
Marina Bourque (late Bernard); brothers in-law: Alderic McCaie (late
Yvonne), Joseph Thibodeau (late Albertine), Hervé Bourque
(Dorine), and Camille (Bella), as well as many nieces and
nephews.
She was predeceased by her
husband, Oscar Bourque (2016); sisters: Rita Bourque (late Henri),
Corinne, and Andréa; brothers: Hervé (late
Rita), Camille (late Florence), and Lionel (late Yolande), in-laws:
Aimé (late Elodie) Bourque, Thérèse
(late Gerry) Rheaume, and Andréa (late Fred)
O’Brien..
The family will receive condolences at Frenette
Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (532-3297) on
Sunday October 20 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8:30
p.m. and on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of departure (10:45 a.m.).
The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph R.C. Church, 415
Main Street, Shediac on Monday October 21 at 11 a.m.
Interment will be in the Frenette Columbarium,
Shediac.
