It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lillian Gaudet, lovingly known as Mémère, on October 8, 2024 at the age of 81 years old. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Alexandre and Edna (Léger) Gagnon.

Lillian was a vibrant matriarch whose passion for life inspired everyone around her. A proud and active woman, she enjoyed ballroom dancing, darts, rollerblading, and ice skating. Her dedication to fitness was evident in her commitment to push-ups, planks, and weight training, reflecting her belief in staying strong and healthy. Lillian was also a meticulous "clean freak", always ensuring her surroundings were immaculate. As a member of the Club d'Âge d'Or and Dames Chevalières, she cherished her involvement in community activities. Her spirited personality and infectious laughter made her a beloved presence among family and friends. Always one to be "done up", she took great pride in her appearance, a testament to her self-respect and dignity. In her final days, Lillian requested that her family ensure she looked her best, a final reflection of her enduring pride and care for her appearance.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Donald; one daughter, Josette Collette (Guy) of Grand Falls; one son, Benoit of Québec, QC; three grandchildren: Danika, Isabelle, and Erik; eight great-grandchildren: Olivier, Frédéric, Annabelle, Cora, Lily, Evee, Théodore, and Evan; five sisters: Jeannita Bouchard (André) of Gatineau, QC, Lorraine LeBouthillier (late Ovila) of Dieppe, Sylvia Lanteigne (late Roger LeBlanc) of Notre-Dame, Muriel Breau and Georgette Lirette (Charles), both of Saint-Philippe; two brothers: Normand Gagnon (Germaine) of Leominster, MA, and Jean-Paul Gagnon (Lucille) of Saint-Antoine; as well as several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, who will carry her legacy of love and strength forward.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Léona Paquet, and two brothers: René Gagnon and Gérard "Gerry" Gagnon.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) on Monday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-Grâce R.C. Church, 858 Mountain Road, Moncton, on Tuesday October 15 at 11 am. Interment will be at Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of Lillian, in lieu of flowers, a contribution to the CHU Dumont Foundation (oncology) would be appreciated.

Lillian will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her vivacity, warmth, and the joy she brought into our lives.
