It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeannine Belliveau (née Leger) of Moncton, NB at the age of 91 years old. She passed away peacefully on August 31, 2024 at Ocean Hall Nursing Residence in Moncton, in the presence of her family.

Born in Moncton on August 18, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Ada Gould and the late Anselme (Sam) Leger (and her late stepfather Antoine Paradis).

Jeannine married Leopold F. Belliveau, the love of her life, in 1958 and they lived happily for 66 years. She had a heart of gold and was loved by everyone who met her. She also had a close circle of friends for several decades, with whom she participated in their famous "Sewing Club" every month.

Jeannine was the cornerstone of her large family of seven children and seven grandchildren. She loved them very much and her admiration for her family had no boundaries. She raised her children with love and kindness but also with an amazing sense of humour. The family has fond memories of her joke gifts that she would be so happy to give them every Christmas.

Jeannine will be sadly missed by her husband Leopold; her daughters: Lise (Bert Thibodeau) of Shediac, NB, Rachel (Jim Conley) of Ottawa, ON, and Lyne (Alan Schneider) of Houston, TX; her sons: Guy (Sylvie Roussel) of Prince Edward County, ON, Marc (Teghist Ayana) of Port Credit, ON, and Daniel of Halifax, NS. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Edmond. She will also be sadly missed by her seven grandchildren: Vanessa, Nicolas, Geneviève, Eric, Mia, Esmée and Rémy; and by many nephews, nieces, brothers-in law and sisters-in-law.

She was predeceased by her sister Huberte, and by her brothers: Rodolphe, Raymond, Louis, Ernest, Gerard, Paul and Valmond.

We wish to give special thanks to the staff and special residents of Ocean Hall for the care and attention they gave to our beloved Jeannine.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Christ-Roi, 300 Dominion Street, Moncton on Monday September 9 at 11 am. Interment will be at Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of Jeannine, a contribution to the Alzheimer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
