It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of our
dear Marcel. With courage and dignity, he left us after a long battle
against cancer. Surrounded by his family, he passed away at the Albert
House hospice on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at the age of 74. Born in
Edmundston and residing in Shediac Cape, he was the son of the late
Albert and Thérèse (Landry) Roy.
With unconditional love, he leaves behind wonderful memories
with his wife Pauline (Albert); his daughter Isabelle Roy (Richard
McCulloch) and his grandson Thomas of Grande-Digue, as well as his
daughter Julie Roy MacAdam of Moncton and his granddaughters: Ava and
Madeline.
He is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Pauline
(Jean-Louis Levesque) of St-Basile-le-Grand, QC, Jean-Marie (late
Clémence Charest) of Matane, QC, Alice (Robert Emond) of
Notre-Dame-de-Kent, Louise of Dieppe, Daniel (Murielle Mallet) of
Shediac, Anne (Bernard Long) of Grand-Barachois, Pierre (Denise
Haché) of Moncton, and Hélène
(Jacques Lajoie) of Irishtown; as well as several nieces and
nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister
Denise.
A distinguished businessman recognized for his expertise and
integrity, he founded Structo Construction Inc. in 1990. This
accomplishment brought him great pride and enabled him to build strong
business relationships and genuine friendships.
Marcel was our star on earth, with his generosity, spirit of
helping others, and love of life. He has left us like a shooting star
that will shine forever.
The family wishes to thank the staff and volunteers at Albert
House for the wonderful care provided with respect and
compassion.
