It is with profound sadness we announce the death of our ‘’Mom’’ Agnes, 95, at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont UHC on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. She was born in Grand Tracadie PEI to John D MacAulay and Agnes Robinson. Agnes was the youngest of eight children and the last surviving member of her family.

She was the wife of the late Reg Rodgers, (2014), and the loving mother of: Michael (Julie), David, Tim, Tommy (2012) and Rob (Lynne); a beloved Gran to: Matthew, Renée, Vanessa, Mark, Shawn, Sacha, and a great grand mother to Kaleb, Chloe, Jules, Callie and Rylie, also an aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by six sisters: Marg Clayton (George), Jean Dunn (Ray), Nellie Malone (Leo), Marie Benton (Doug), Gert Dufour (Andre), Carm Seisdedos (Ed), and brother John (Marguerite).

Agnes graduated from Charlottetown Hospital School of Nursing in the class of 1951 and worked in her profession as an RN at the Dr. Georges L Dumont Hospital for many years.

Agnes loved summers at Parlee Beach, played bridge (duplicate and contract) four times a week before the pandemic and then played online. Agnes golfed at Lakeside Golf and Country Club, curled at the Curl Moncton Club and lawn bowled in Shediac into her 80’s. Agnes had great respect for her community and was always willing to volunteer. A lifetime member of the Shediac Lions and Charter Member of the Silver Sands Seniors and started the ‘’Vial for Life’’ program in that association. Agnes was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church in Pointe du Chene. Agnes loved gatherings or social events of any kind. Mom loved her family greatly and was always willing to give advice… wanted or not. So, guys, be good to each other and love your family, you’ll know where I’ll be.

She fought the good fight. She won the race. She kept the faith.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac, on Sunday, August 18 from 2 pm to 4 pm and from 7 pm to 9 pm only. The funeral will be celebrated on Monday, August 19 at the Our Lady of Mercy Church, 11 St. Andrews Rd, Pointe-du-Chêne at 10:30 am. Burial will be in the St. Joseph cemetery, Shediac.
