Claudette Gingras, 81, of Caraquet, an exceptional lady and cherished mother and grandmother, passed away at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC on August 4, 2024. Born in Québec, QC, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Agathe (Thériault) Gingras.

To Yzabel, Claudette was a strong woman with remarkable intelligence, an experienced and respected businesswoman, a profound feminist, an inspiration to her daughter and granddaughters. But above all, she was a woman of extraordinary generosity, loyal, loving, for whom the priority was her children and granddaughters, whom she adored.

To Harold, Claudette was a fighter whom no one could intimidate.

She could argue with anyone and was right most of the time. Claudette was extraordinarily valiant, working herself to death and continuing to volunteer as she had done all her life. Her unconditional love for her family and friends will always be remembered.

You may now rest in peace with your eldest daughter, Marie-Claude.

Claudette would especially like to thank her angel, Monique Landry; her friends: Lucille Cormier, Murielle Comeau, Marielle Foulem, and Angelina Boulay; the Léger family and the Michaud family.

She will be missed by her children: Harold and Yzabel Michaud (Michel LeBouthillier); her granddaughters: Ariane Michaud (her mother Isabelle Moreau), Mahika and Danaé LeBouthillier; her sisters: Pauline (Léonce Gaudreault) and Nicole Gingras (Denis Lemay); her brother, Roger Gingras (Louise Paulin); her lover, Paul Léger; her children’s father, Alphée Michaud (Jacqueline Thériault); her nephews and nieces: Geneviève Baril-Gingras, Hugues Baril, Yannick Picard, Marie-Christine, Stéphanie and Pascale Gingras, Julie et Denis Cayouette; her many Michaud nephews and nieces; and Raymond Mallet, her ex-partner for many years.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date and will be announced. Interment will be at Saint-Pierre-aux-Liens cemetery in Caraquet. In memory of Claudette, a contribution to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (506-858-1900).
