It is with deep sadness that we announce that Doreen Edna MacArthur, 82, of Barnesville, NB, went to her rest on Monday evening August 5, 2024. She passed away at the Palliative Care Unit of the Saint John Regional Hospital.

Doreen was born in the old Saint John Hospital on February 22, 1942.

She will be deeply missed by her husband, Douglas MacArthur; son, Brian MacArthur (Christie); her cherished grandchildren: Mya, Avery, and Sean. She will also be missed by her cousins, extended family and many friends.

She was predeceased by her father, Andy Meehan, 21, killed in action on April 24, 1945, on a front line assault in World War II, her mother, Doris Meehan (Brown) Meehan on October 13, 2010, and brother-in-law, David MacArthur on March 27, 2023.

The family will receive condolences on Sunday August 11, 2024 from 12 noon to 2 pm at Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1158 Route 820, Barnesville, NB, from where the funeral service will be celebrated on Sunday August 11, 2024 at 2 pm with David Crook officiating. The funeral service will be streamed live; to view the funeral, please go to the following Zoom link - www.hamptonsda.ca/funeral. A reception will immediately follow at the church.

Private family interment will be in church Cemetery.
