It is with great sadness that the family of Alexandre
Méthot, of Moncton, N.B., announces his passing after a
brief illness on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont
University Hospital Centre.
Domiciled at the Pavillon Gallant of the Faubourg du
Mascaret, in Moncton, and formerly in Rothesay, Alexandre was born on
February 2, 1938, in Dalhousie, N.B. He was a son of Alexandre and
Florentine (Caissie) Méthot.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife,
Léa Allard-Méthot (2020), two sisters: his twin
sister of low age, Léona, as well as Evelyne. He leaves in
mourning his son, Rino (Manon Savoie) of Rothesay, three
grand-children: Jacob, Madeleine, and Emma, one sister, Sister
Jénita Méthot (Les filles de Jésus of
Riverview), one brother, Léonel (Mary Godin) of Moncton, as
well as his nieces and nephews.
For thirty-five years, Alexandre worked in the N.B. school
system as a teacher, administrator and French coordinator. He also
taught courses for the Université de Moncton. He had
tremendous analysis and synthesis abilities in communication, reading,
and writing.
Avid of learning, organized and humble, Alexandre was a
passionate reader and writer. He meditated daily and loved painting
cards for his loved ones. He was always able to make others laugh and
was a very sociable person.
For many years, Alexandre was associated with Les
frères de l’Institution
chrétienne.
Alexandre lives in our hearts, and to see him again, we must
simply close our eyes.
Parents and friends are invited to Frenette Funeral and
Cremation Centre, 88 Church St, Moncton (506-858-1900), on Tuesday,
July 16th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. (celebration of life will begin at 4
p.m.), in accordance with Alexandre’s wishes. Interment will
take place at Eel River Crossing cemetery. In memory of Alexandre, a
donation to the 5B North Nurses’ Education Fund (Saint John
Regional Hospital Foundation) or to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke
Foundation would be appreciated. For those who wish, remembrances may
