Doris Murrie Boudreau of Moncton passed away peacefully on Friday June 28, 2024, one month before her 103rd birthday, at Pavillon Richard, Faubourg du Mascaret. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Barney and Daisy Gould. Doris was the oldest and last surviving member of this branch of the Gould family. She was predeceased by three sisters: Loretta (Walter) Wilson, Jean (Donald) Alcorn, and Hazel (John) Ryan; four brothers: Jack (Inez) Gould, Donald (Geraldine) Gould, Garnet (Margaret) Gould, and infant Valery Gould.

She was also predeceased by her husband Ernest Joseph Boudreau (1972), and her son Ernie "Jr." Boudreau (2009).

Doris, a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, is survived and will be sadly missed by her children: Louane (Bob) Fraser, Celia (Michael Hollywood) Boudreau, Tissa (Bob Allan) Pellerin, and David (Julie Stuart) Boudreau; grandchildren: Amy (Iain) Tennent, Andrew (Janet) Fraser, Lauren (Charlie) Hollywood, Harry (Chloe) Hollywood, Marcel Pellerin, Elyse (Billy) Wright, Bridget (Dakota) Brace, and Tyler Stuart; and great-grandchildren: Sara, Ewan, Alec, Nolan, Ruby, Thea, Scarlet, Delilah, Lemmy, and Mars; as well as several nieces and nephews.

After her husband passed away, she continued to manage the family commercial painting business, H. Boudreau and Son, until all remaining employees retired. She later worked at The Moncton Hospital, which she considered her dream job, until she retired at 72.

Doris loved spending her summers at the cottage in Shediac. The doors to her home and cottage were always open and were considered a haven for friends and family.

She was actively involved in the Moncton East Women’s Liberal Association, a member of the Board of Directors of the East End Boys & Girls Club, and a long-time member of the Catholic Women’s League at St Bernard’s Church. An avid bridge player, she later pursued her passion researching her family’s genealogy. A devoted Catholic, Doris had great faith in her "Never Fail Novenas".

Forever in our hearts after a life well lived, rest in peace our Doris.

The family would like to thank the staff at Pavillon Richard, Faubourg du Mascaret for all the loving care given to her in the later years of her life.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) on Thursday July 4 from 6 to 8 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 43 Botsford Street, Moncton on Friday July 5 at 9:30 am. Interment will be at Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Doris, memorial contributions may be made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation or St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church Building Fund.
