Leroy Hackett, 77, of Shediac
Bridge passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on
Thursday, June 27, 2024, at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Goderich,
Ontario, he was the son of the late Harold and Mary (Cranston)
Hackett.
He proudly served for 31 years
in the Royal Canadian Air Force.
Leroy is survived by his
daughters: Tawnya Stringer (Christopher) of Kingston Ontario, Heather
Hackett-Ker (Stephen) of Oromocto and a special friend, Clarice
LeBlanc of Shediac; a sister Margaret Hughes (Robert) of Winnipeg MB
and sisters-in-law: Corinne Howard (Lorne) of Shediac Bridge, Margie
LeBlanc (Eugène) of Grand-Barachois, and Marie-May LeBlanc
(Val) of Shediac; four grandchildren: Caleb, Mason, Ryleigh, Isabella
and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife
Marie (Clements) (2015) and a brother-in-law Oscar Clements
(2006).
A Celebration of Life will take
place at the Shediac Branch 33 Legion, 386 Main Street Shediac on
Wednesday, July 31 from 2 pm to 4 pm.
Thank you to the nurses and
doctors of The Moncton Hospital Cardiac Care Unit for the wonderful
care they gave our dad. Thank you also to Michelle and the medical
team at the Heart Function Clinic for their exceptional care and
support.
In memory of Leroy, a donation to the Heart and Stroke
Foundation of New Brunswick or to a charity of the donor’s
choice would be appreciated.
Cremation and funeral arrangements are under the
direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Shediac (506
