Sister Dorice Arsenault ndsc (in religion Sr Marie-de-Carmel), passed away following a lengthy illness on Monday June 24, 2024 at the Motherhouse of the Religieuses de Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur in Moncton. She was 97 years old and in the 80th year of her religious life. Born in Nigadoo, NB, she was the daughter of the late William "Willie" and Emma (Doucet) Arsenault.
Besides her religious family, she is survived by one sister, Carmelle (late Laurent Cormier), as well as her nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by four sisters: Emérilda, Rita, Sr Stella, ndsc, and Jeannette; and four brothers: Edmond, Gérard, Roméo, and Ligouri.
Sister Dorice will be resting at the Notre-Dame-d’Acadie Pavilion of the Maison-mère des Religieuses Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur, 125 King Street, Moncton (Godfrey Lane entrance) on Thursday June 27 from 2 pm to 8:30 pm, with Solemn Vespers at 7 pm. Visitations will start again on Friday June 28 from 9 am until the funeral mass. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday June 28 in the Maison-mère chapel at 10 am. The funeral mass will be streamed live and may be viewed on her obituary at www.frenettefuneralhome.com where condolences may also be sent. Interment will be in Memramcook.
