Imelda Landry, 99, of Robichaud Office, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, May 24, 2024, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC, Moncton. Born in Robichaud Office, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Agnès (Bourque) Gallant.

Imelda will be sadly missed by her five children: a devoted daughter Hélène Boudreau (Paul) of Shediac; four sons: André (Phyllis) of Cormier-Village, Marco of Dieppe, Wayne, and Danny (Debbie) all of Shediac, one loving sister, Tilda Robichaud (late Ronaldo); six sister-in-law: Andréa Gallant, Bernice Desjardins, Murielle Landry, Victorine Landry, Florine Landry, and Alfreda Landry; two brothers-in-law: Merville Landry and Jean-Guy Landry; nine grandchildren: Monique, Richard, Charles, Nicole, Allain, Julien, Jean-Marc, Christian, and Isabelle; eight great grandchildren: Ellie, Mila, Michaëlle, Laurent, Aïcha, Abdurachman, Macy, and Joni, several nieces and nephews.

Beside her parents, Imelda was predeceased by her husband of 71 years marriage, Clorice Landry in 2019 and her daughter Louise in 2016; four sisters: Laura Cormier, Maria LeBlanc, Alvina Boudreau, and Alma Leger; five brothers: Walter, Ernest, Clarisse, Emery, and Laurie.

Imelda was an exceptional cook. She sewed her children clothing and loved to travel. She also operated a B&B for many years. She took great pride in her home, and everyone always felt welcome including her famous "Réveillons de Noël". We always said her frying pan never got cold. She loved their camp in Anagance. Yes, Imelda did hunt and made our family proud.

She mastered the art of active listening and kept her social skills even in her last days in the hospital. Every morning, she did her crossword, find-a-word, and cripts. She also enjoyed a good game of Skip Bo and 200.

The family would like to thank O’Bons Soins for their compassionate care. Special thank you to the Emergency Department, unit 4F and 3F who provided excellent comfort and empathy. Our deepest gratitude to all the doctors who treated our mom like their own.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac on Wednesday May 29 from 2 pm to 4 pm and from 7 pm to 9 pm. The funeral will be celebrated at St-Henri de Barachois R.C. Church, 1356 route 133, Grand-Barachois on Thursday, May 30th at 10 am.

In memory of Imelda, a donation to the Fondation Dumont Foundation (Palliative Care) would be appreciated.

Cremation and funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Shediac (506-532-3297).
