Rita O’Brien, 89, of Westford Nursing Home,
Port Elgin, passed away on Monday April 29, 2024, at The Moncton
Hospital. Born in Trois-Ruisseaux, she was the daughter of the late
Napoléon and Laurianne (Jacob)
Léger.
She worked for Avon for many years. Rita was the rock
of the family and very welcoming to others. She loved to bake and make
wine. Her faith was very important to her.
She is survived by two daughters: Louise
O’Brien of Shemogue and Dina Austen of Baie Verte; two sons:
Charles (Deborah) of Toronto, ON, and James (Lilly) of Moncton; three
sisters: Albertina of Cap-Pelé, Corinne Léger of
Shediac, and Rose Wright (Gerald) of Toronto, ON; two brothers: Allias
(Jeannine) and Jacques (Linda) all of Cap-Pelé; two sister
in-laws: Viola and Camilla; ten grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren,
as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles (1999);
three brothers: Ulysse, Stanley, and
Albert.
There will be no visitation. The funeral will be
celebrated on Saturday May 11 at 2 pm at Kingdom Hall of
Jehovah’s, 71 King Street, Sackville, NB. The funeral

Interment will be in Shemogue cemetery.
