Ronald Gallant, 69, of Shediac, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday April 21, 2024 at his residence. Born in Shediac, he was the son of the late Léonide and Catherine (Bourque) Gallant.

Prior to his retirement, Ronald worked for the Department of Transportation and various security jobs. Ronald loved playing cards, bingo and helping others. He was also a member of the 4th degree Knights of Columbus of Barachois.

He is survived by his common-law spouse, Auréa LeBlanc; two stepsons: Yvon (Maria Bastarache) of Bouctouche and Charles (Monique) of St-Louis; one stepdaughter, Francine of Shediac; four sisters: Thérèse Doiron, Dorothée Fougère (Alphonse), Joanne Léger (Eddie), and Germaine Gallant all of Shediac; two brothers: Antoine (Suzanne) of Shediac and Allan (Sonia Porelle) of Haute-Aboujagane; one sister in-law, Maria Gallant of Haute-Aboujagane; five step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Ronald was predeceased by a brother, Paul.

The family would like to thank Dr. Sara Bazinet, Dr. Robert Adams, Dr. Sarah Ironside and the Oncology Department at the Moncton City Hospital for the amazing care provide to Ronald.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (506-532-3297) on Wednesday April 24 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Joseph R.C. Church, 415 Main Street, Shediac, on Thursday April 25 at 11 am. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

In memory of Ronald, a contribution to the Canadian Cancer Scoiety or to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
