It is with extremely heavy hearts that we must announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Shirley Donovan, 82, on Tuesday April 16th, 2024. Born in Albert Co., NB, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Yvonne (Douthwright) Colburn.

Shirley is survived by her most loved aunt Josie Vickers (Bob), sister Carol "Poodles" (Leo Crouteau), two sons: Michael LeBlanc (Tosh) and Stephen LeBlanc (Joanne) and a daughter, Madeleine ‘Lynn" LeBlanc; seven grandchildren: Matthew LeBlanc (Carrie), Jessica LeBlanc, Jillian Chabros, Jaclyn LeBlanc, Michelle Numann, Kim Numann, and Jacob Griffin; six great-grandchildren: Zoey, Kempton, Aria, Madeleine, Coralee, and Addison, along with countless nephews and nieces who she loved like her own. She also leaves behind her close friends: Nancy Chessie, Irene Caissie and Toni Rideout. Shirley had as much family through love as she did through blood. She was called "Mom" by many.

Shirley was predeceased by her brothers: Robert "Bobby" Colburn and Brian Colburn; sisters: Loretta "Pat" Comfort and Marie Smith.

Shirley loved bowling and won many tournaments and was most proud of a "401". Another of Shirley's favorite activities was darts in which she was also very accomplished. Recently, she could be found watching her favorite team, the Blue Jays or reading a new book, passed on to her by her daughter-in-law Tosh. Shirley also enjoyed spending time at the Shediac Legion Branch # 33 and supporting legion events.

Although Shirley and her late husband and father of their children, Richard LeBlanc had been divorced for many years, they remained dear friends, playing crib and looking out each other.

She lived her life to the fullest and on her own terms until she became an angel in the shape of our mom.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Shediac Legion Branch # 33, Saturday, April 20th from 2 pm till 5 pm.

Cremation and funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Shediac (506 532-3297).

Words of comfort and online condolences may be forwarded through our website at:  www.frenettefuneralhome.com
