Doris Irène Guerrette, at 95 years and 7 months old, left us for a better place on Saturday March 23, 2024 in Moncton. Born in Edmundston, she was the daughter of the late Maurice Paul and the late Yvonne (Ouellet) St. Pierre and wife of the late Dr. Roger Guerrette.

She will be sadly missed by her sister Rachel (Édouard) Poirier of Saint Zotique, QC, and her sister-in-law Joyce (Matthews) St. Pierre of Fredericton. She is survived by her children: Jacques (late Mona Nadeau) of Regina, SK, René (Murielle LeBlanc) of Petit-Cap, Francine (Don Smith) of Cranbrook, BC, Solange of Tétagouche Nord, Louise (André Côté) of Laval, QC, and Hélène (André Bordage) of Dieppe. She also leaved her grandchildren: Marie-France, Mylène, Philippe, Pascale, Amber, Taylor, Marc-Éric, Jolaine, Mathieu, Alexandre, Émilie, Jérémie, Charlie, Dominique, Jean-Luc and Justin; many great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and friends.

She is now resting besides her parents, her husband Roger, her son Pierre, her brother René Guy, as well as one brother, infant Gaston.

Joie de vivre - we remember her charm and elegance. Life and love partners, Doris and Roger created a large, beautiful family. She was happiest around her family, at reunions and get-togethers with friends and loved ones - sometimes with card games and Crooners-era music, which Roger often played on the organ. She loved to travel with her beloved, often back to the sand and warm waters in the winter months. Very artistic, she loved painting, needlepoint, crocheting and knitting. She made countless confections for her grandchildren. Color and texture fed her imagination for fashion and interior design. Her home, always warm and welcoming, was her favorite place for setting a beautiful table where she served sumptuous meals to her loved ones; cherished moments of happiness.

The funeral arrangements were in the professional care of Frenette Funeral Centre in Moncton (506-858-1900) in partnership with JB Côté & fils Funeral Home in Edmundston (506-735-8435). There will be no visitation at the funeral homes; the funeral mass will be celebrated in Immaculée-Conception Cathedral, 145 Rice Street, Edmundston, on Monday May 6 at 11 am. Interment will be in parish cemetery besides her husband.

In her memory, a contribution to the Dr. Léon-Richard Oncology Centre (www.dumontfoundation.ca) or Doctors without Borders (www.doctorswithoutborders.ca) may be made.

Words of comfort and donations may be made at www.frenettefuneralhome.com or www.jbcote.com.
