Cécile Duquette (Limoges),
91, a longtime resident of Moncton, passed away peacefully on Monday
March 18, 2024 at Villa Providence in Shediac surrounded by her
family. Born in Montréal, she was the daughter of the late
Antoinette Morache and Hervé Limoges.
Cécile’s family
and children meant everything to her. She is remembered fondly by the
many people whose lives she touched for her wonderful sense of humour,
quick wit and loving personality. Prior to her retirement,
Cécile worked in various roles at the Dieppe Walmart. In
her spare time, she loved bowling, and was a member of the Dames
d'Acadie of Moncton and a volunteer at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont
Hospital, mainly in the nursery and the radiology department. Even
though she had been away from Montreal for several years, her heart
remained there and she loved to return whenever she
could.
She is survived by four children:
Daniel (Susan) and Lise Culligan (Darrell), both of Moncton, Lucie
Duguay (Bruce) of Dieppe, and Jeanne Duquette of Fredericton; six
grandchildren: Denis, Eric, Joël, Sophie, Michael, and
Jennifer; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; one
sister, Claire Limoges (Emmanuel Dubois) of Boucherville, QC; as well
as her nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband,
Marcel (1991); and three brothers: Gilles, Roger, and
Denis.
The family would like to thank the
staff of Villa Providence, Extra-Mural Program and Integrity Home
Health Services in Fredericton for their excellent
care.
The family will receive condolences at
Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre 88 Church Street, Moncton
(506-858-1900) on Monday from 6 to 8pm and Tuesday March 26 at 2pm
followed by the funeral service at 3pm. To stream the funeral service
live, go to Cécile’s obituary on the Frenette
Website. Interment will be at Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe
at a later date. In memory of Cécile, a contribution to a
charity of the donor’s choice would be
appreciated.
