Norbert Robichaud, 75, of Grand-Barachois, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC on Saturday March 16, 2024. Born in Dupuis Corner, he was the son of the late Zacharie and Lina (Landry) Robichaud.

After earning his bachelor’s degree from Université de Moncton, Norbert embarked on a distinguished career in the fuel industry. He served as the Vice President of Metro Fuels for many years before transitioning to the role of Territory Manager at Imperial Oil and later at Wilson Fuels. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Norbert was a cherished husband, devoted family man, and individual who enjoyed golfing and traveling. Known for his calm presence and great sense of humour, he brought joy to those around him.

Norbert is mourned by his beloved wife of 53 years, Rachelle (Landry) and his children: Yves Robichaud (Jocelyne), Chantal Levy (Jason), Josée Robichaud (Trevor) and Renée Landry (Bertin). He is also fondly remembered by his grandchildren:  Jérémy, Naomie, Jacob, Zoe, Bianca, Caleb, and Zack.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters: Claudette Bourque (Léandre), Francine Nott (late John), Ronald (Judy), Jean-Louis (Julianne), Léo (Rose-Marie), Armand (Raymonde), Normand (Jacqueline) and Roger (Diane); a sister in-law, Francine, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, Allard.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff of the Geriatrics unit at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC for their exceptional care and unwavering compassion extended to Norbert throughout his time under their care.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac on Friday March 22 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Henri de Barachois Church, 1356, route 133, Grand-Barachois on Saturday March 23 at 10:30 a.m.

In memory of Norbert, a contribution to the Alzheimer Society, Crohn’s and Colitis Canada or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.

Cremation and funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Shediac (506-532-3297).
