It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that we
announce the passing of Ella Cormier of Shediac, formerly of
Cap-Pelé, on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at the age of 91, at
the Manoir Pascal-Poirier in Shediac. Born in St-Grégoire,
NB, Ella was the eldest daughter of the late Odilon and Marie (Goguen)
Cormier.
Ella made a career of teaching in schools in the Kent
and Westmorland regions. She attended the Fredericton Normal School
and later obtained her master’s degree in special education
from the Université de Moncton. Ella was a social person
who loved dancing, playing cards and embroidery. She loved life, and
especially spending time talking about natural products such as
SUNRIDER.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Monette
(Armand) Landry of Grand-Barachois; son, Serge of Moncton; son-in-law,
Willie Landry; six grandchildren: Manon (Jean-Luc),
Sébastien (Chantal), Christelle, Renée
(Rémi), Gabrielle, and Charline (Josh); three
great-grandchildren: Matéo, Kaël, and
Maélie; five sisters: Gloria (late Aurèle)
Melanson, Roberte (Jean-Félix) LeBlanc, Jeannine (Fernand)
Belliveau, Murielle (late Bertin) Allain, and Marie-Élodie
(Donald) Cormier; a brother in-law, Philippe Arsenault, as well as
many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by
her husband, Willie; a daughter, Micheline; a son, Doland; a sister,
Yolande Arsenault; common-law husband, Ernest
Cormier.
We wish to sincerely thank the staff of Manoir
Pascal-Poirier, where she lived since 2018, for their attentive care,
especially during the last months.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette
Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac where a chapel
service will be held on Monday March 25 at 11:00 am. Visiting hours
are Monday, 9:30 am to 10:45 am. Interment will be in
Ste-Thérèse-d'Avila Cemetery,
Cap-Pelé. In Ella's memory, a donation to the Alzheimer
Society would be appreciated.
