It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Marie Ange Doiron, 87, of Shediac and formerly of Boudreau Office, on Wednesday February 28, 2024 surrounded by family at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born in Boudreau Office, she was the daughter of the late Didace and Hélène (Doiron) LeBlanc.

Marie Ange was a person who lived experiences to the fullest, and conducted herself with love, friendship, and a pride of community.

Her family, both near and far, were her greatest treasure. In earlier years she was happiest organizing family get-togethers and making sure all were welcomed. Loving to decorate and going the extra mile, she had the ability to make all events a celebration, and making you feel special. When she was no longer able to organize these events, she loved to spend time with the family, regardless of the occasion.

For her grandchildren, Granny was there for everything; births, birthdays, graduations, weddings, ice cream drives, and even just for company to do whatever. She had an immeasurable love for her "6 p'tit choux choux.," and the impact she had on their lives shines around them every day.

She had many friends, and all who knew her were treated with compassion, kindness, and love.  One of her strongest attributes was a sense of fun and laughter. It is these traits many cherish in the memory of her. Throughout the years, she loved to spend time with friends; camping, playing cards, and enjoying shared dinners. On these occasions laughter came easily, and many have said that she had a laugh that stood out in a crowd.

Born on her parent’s farm in Boudreau Office, she proudly called the Shediac area home.  She was an active contributor to her church community and the Women’s Institute. She was proud of her Acadian heritage and looked forward to all celebrations, sporting the appropriate colors and outfits.

A very active member of The New Brunswick Women’s Institute Circle in Boudreau Office for 33 years, she donated an enormous number of hours to the telephone committee, saying she was always happy to talk to members. She also willingly donated hours towards sewing projects, serving on the kitchen committee, quilting blankets, and fundraising events.

Active in the parish of Shediac she organized parishioners to serve mass, communion, and to be greeters. She was always willing to lend a hand on sewing projects and assist in the breakfasts hosted by the parish; often working closely with members of the Knights of Columbus.

Over the years, her circle of friends grew larger and more important in her life.

Her unique laugh echoed through at any function she attended, announcing her presence.

She was a light in the world and a joy to us all.  Sharing her life was an honour and a gift to us all.  She will be missed and will live on in our hearts forever.

She will be dearly missed by her children: Louise McShane (Leonard), Edmond Doiron (Linda), and Gisele Leger; two brothers: Louis-Joseph (Andréa) and Jean (Caroline); five grandsons: Mathieu Doiron (Emilie), Mark Doiron (Lindsay), Conrad Doiron (Ashley), Thomas McShane (Janel), and Maurice Leger (Jolene); four great-grandchildren: Xavier, Ophelia, Elodie, and Jeremie; one sister in-law, Beverly "Bev" LeBlanc (late Antonin). In addition, she will be missed by living relatives of the Doiron family, as well as the many nieces and nephews of both Doiron and LeBlanc families. And of course, she will be missed by the many friends she has made over the course of her life.

She was predeceased by her husband, Henri Doiron (2005); a sister, Gilberte LeBlanc; a brother, Antonin LeBlanc; a grandson, Bradley McShane.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac on Sunday March 10 from 7 pm to 9 pm and Monday March 11 from 2 pm to 3:40 pm only. The funeral will be held in St-Joseph R. C. Church, 415 Main Street, Shediac on Monday March 11 at 4 pm. The funeral will be recorded, and the video will be available on Marie Ange’s obituary on our website at the end of the day. Interment will be in St-Joseph cemetery in Shediac.

In memory of Marie Ange, a contribution to the CHU Dumont Foundation or to the Medical Research Foundation would be appreciated.
