Sister Claudette Maillet, ndsc, passed away following a long illness on Monday February 26, 2024 at the Motherhouse of the Religieuses de Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur in Moncton. She was 84 years old and in the 65th year of her religious life. Born in Ste-Anne-de-Kent, she was the daughter of the late Alyre and Pauline (Caissie) Maillet.

Besides her religious family, she is survived by five sisters: Fernande (late Irénée Allain) of Bouctouche, Rosarine (Iroi Maillet) of Dieppe, Andréa (late Tommy) of Calais, Maine, Roberte of Moncton, and Rose-May of Moncton; five brothers: Conrad (Dorine) of Dieppe, Éloi (Monique) of Ste-Marie-de-Kent, Rhéal (Denise) of Ontario, Denis (Lucie) of Dieppe, and Jacques of New-York; one sister in-law, Jeannette (late Oswald) of Bouctouche, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Oswald and two infant brothers, Joseph and Roméo; infant sister, Rose-May.

Sister Claudette will be resting at the Notre-Dame-d’Acadie Pavilion of the Maison-mère des Religieuses Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur, 125 King Street, Moncton (Godfrey Lane entrance).  Public and family visiting hours are Thursday February 29 from 2 pm to 8:30 pm.  Solemn Vespers will be held on Thursday evening at 7 pm.

Family and sisters visiting hours will begin at 9 am Friday March 1 until the funeral mass, which will be celebrated at 10 am in the Maison-mère Chapel, for sisters and family members only.  The funeral mass will be streamed live and may be viewed on her obituary at www.frenettefuneralhome.com where condolences may also be sent.  Interment will be in Memramcook.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (506-858-1900).
