It is with profound sadness that we announce that Peter J. Porter of Moncton, NB passed away peacefully in his home on February 19, 2024.

Peter was a good husband, father and grandfather, businessman, musician, and more. As a child, Peter developed a deep love for sports, especially being on the water, and music. Music became the rhythm of his life. He was the drummer of Pete Porter Orchette for many decades.

Peter was an accomplished businessman and leader. He had talent, wisdom, and knowledge. Peter worked in Moncton, Montreal, Vancouver, Boston and New York and travelled the world for both international corporations and private enterprises throughout Canada, United States, Asia, Europe and Africa. He worked in a variety of businesses, including imports/exports, sports athletic consulting, and manufacturing. Peter touched many businesses over the years. Most recently, he was a founding member of the Alma City Club and President of Savonnerie Olivier Soapery.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Annie Wang, his son Shane, his daughter-in-law Jillian, and his granddaughters Maeve and Charlotte. Peter was predeceased by his father Leonard Porter, who lost his life in World War II, and his mother Kathryn (Bell) Porter.

A gathering of friends will be held at the Alma City Club, 114 Alma St., Moncton, NB on Thursday, March 14th, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. All are welcome.
