Muriel May Brison, 84, of Canterbury Hall in Riverview and formerly of Moncton, passed away on Monday February 5, 2024 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Bouctouche, she was the daughter of the late James Francis and Sophie (Nowlan) Carroll.

Muriel received her education in Bouctouche, Teacher’s College and the Université de Moncton. She was passionate about reading and was a lifelong learner. She worked tirelessly to pass this enthusiasm along to her loving students.

She taught in Fredericton and Moncton. Upon retirement, she found fulfillment in her flower gardens, remained engaged with friends and was active in numerous clubs and organizations. Her love of travel was never-ending and Muriel found contentment in spending time in nature and was at peace on any shore.

Muriel is survived by one daughter, Monique; three sons: Jacques (Andrea), André (Jaymie), and Marc (Louane); one grandson, Xavier; and three sisters: Bernice Bastarache (Gerard), Joanne Cormier (late Henri), and Phyllis LeBlanc (Guy); as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Emery (2021); three sisters: Helen Armstrong, Pauline Despres, and Mary Gautreau; and four brothers: Joseph, Cecil, Kenneth, and Ralph.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) where the funeral service will be celebrated on Friday February 9 at 3 pm. Visiting hours are Friday from 1:30 pm until time of funeral. Interment will be in Frenette Columbarium in Moncton. In memory of Muriel, a contribution to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation or the House of Nazareth would be greatly appreciated.
