Muriel May Brison, 84, of Canterbury Hall in Riverview and
formerly of Moncton, passed away on Monday February 5, 2024 at The
Moncton Hospital. Born in Bouctouche, she was the daughter of the late
James Francis and Sophie (Nowlan) Carroll.
Muriel received her education in Bouctouche,
Teacher’s College and the Université de Moncton.
She was passionate about reading and was a lifelong learner. She
worked tirelessly to pass this enthusiasm along to her loving
students.
She taught in Fredericton and Moncton. Upon retirement, she
found fulfillment in her flower gardens, remained engaged with friends
and was active in numerous clubs and organizations. Her love of travel
was never-ending and Muriel found contentment in spending time in
nature and was at peace on any shore.
Muriel is survived by one daughter, Monique; three sons:
Jacques (Andrea), André (Jaymie), and Marc (Louane); one
grandson, Xavier; and three sisters: Bernice Bastarache (Gerard),
Joanne Cormier (late Henri), and Phyllis LeBlanc (Guy); as well as
several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Emery (2021); three
sisters: Helen Armstrong, Pauline Despres, and Mary Gautreau; and four
brothers: Joseph, Cecil, Kenneth, and Ralph.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and
Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) where the
funeral service will be celebrated on Friday February 9 at 3 pm.
Visiting hours are Friday from 1:30 pm until time of funeral.
Interment will be in Frenette Columbarium in Moncton. In memory of
Muriel, a contribution to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital
Foundation or the House of Nazareth would be greatly
appreciated.
