Frank Woodford Reade, 73, of Irishtown passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at the Albert House Hospice in Moncton, NB after a long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by is loving daughters.
Born in Port Elgin, NB, Frank was the son of the late John and Wilma (Corbett) Reade. Frank grew up in Upper Cape before moving to Saint John, Moncton, Grand-Barachois and finally settling in Irishtown, NB.
He started his career as a traveling salesman for many years until he took over the local convenience store in Robichaud Office, NB and later starting his own sales agency. He was also a board member with the Atlantic Farm Mechanisation Show for many years.
Frank will be remembered for his love of family, especially his two daughters. He loved being surrounded by family and friends. He would enjoy spending time at his cottage and the farm in Upper Cape, visiting with his sisters and brothers while having a toddy, a good card game and catching up on gossip. He spent many evenings calling up family and friends to tell them jokes, wishing them happy birthday, or just to share in how their day was. He loved to fish with his best friend Harald and was a great cook (he made the best chicken fricot).
Frank is survived by his wife Theresa (McNabb); daughters: Michelle, Upper Cape, and Kristine, Dieppe; grandson Patrick (Brie), Fort St-John, brothers: Bill (Arlene), Upper Cape, Steven (Patti), Upper Cape, Jeff (Chrissy), Moncton and Harald (Gayle) Fredriksen, Moncton; sisters: Deborah Rogerson, Halifax, Heather, Moncton, Cathy (Jimmy) Noonan, Timber River; stepdaughter Maureen (Matt), Dieppe, stepson Andrew, brother-in-law Wilco and sisters-in-law: Wanda, Eileen, Beverly and Corinne. Frank will be dearly missed by his family, his extended family, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his late wife Jeannette (Gaudet), son Jason, brothers: Daryl and Jack, sister Holly and brother in-law James Rogerson.
In keeping with Frank's wishes, a graveside service will be held in the spring at the Saint Henri Parish Cemetery, Grand-Barachois, NB. There will be no visitation or funeral service. Those wishing to make a donation in Frank's memory can do so to Hospice SENB (Albert House).
Cremation and funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Shediac (506 532-3297).
