It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Doreen Emma (Wallace) Hendrickson, 82, of Pointe du Chene, NB.  Doreen passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at the Moncton Hospital surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Pointe-du-Chêne, Doreen was the daughter of the late Vincent and Emma (Gallant) Wallace, also of Pointe du Chene.

Doreen was a loving, vibrant person who brought laughter to many occasions and her smile will be missed dearly by her family and friends.  She always had a story to tell or a joke to make and loved making others laugh.  She is survived by her two sons, Jeff (Colette) Hendrickson and Barry (Niki) Hendrickson of Pointe-du-Chêne and daughter Shari (Dan) O’Connor of Saint John, as well as sister Shirley Champoux (Alex) of Antigonish.  Doreen adored her two grandchildren, Andrew and Mark O’Connor.  She was proud to watch them grow and loved being a part of so many of their milestones.  Doreen loved her furbabies (Beau, Bella and Rollie) and could often be caught singing songs to them.   She was predeceased by two brothers: Laurie and Ernie Wallace, both of Pointe du Chene.

Doreen was surrounded by the most incredible group of ladies that she was lucky enough to call her best friends, many of whom she had known since childhood.  They would often gather for breakfasts, enjoyed dressing up for special occasions and celebrated Christmas together for years.   She will be dearly missed by Linda, Joan, Jean and all of her CC’s gang.

In lieu of a funeral, Doreen wished to have a Celebration of Life where people can gather with a cup of tea and tell stories.  This will be held at the Pointe-du-Chêne Community Centre on Sunday, January 21 from 2 pm to 4 pm.

Community was important to Doreen so in lieu of flowers donations may be made to any local charity within your community.

Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Shediac (506 532-3297).
