Alice Poirier, 92, of Moncton, passed away peacefully on
January 6, 2024 at the Pavillon Cormier of Faubourg du Mascaret. Born
in Saint-Philippe, she was the daughter of Albert and Adèle
(Cormier) Gallant.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Ulysse; three
children: Géraldine Poirier Baiani (Benito) of Fredericton,
Denise Vick (Bill Allanach) of Moncton and Janice Bragdon (Paul) of
Woodstock; six grandchildren: Mathieu, Vanessa, Laura, Sophie, Alex
and Ian; two great-grandchildren: Liam and Lucas; one sister-in-law,
Marguerite Gallant; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the
last surviving member of her immediate family.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters:
Almida Gallant (Eric) and Rosina; as well as three brothers:
Amédée, Alyre, and Alfred.
As per her wishes there will be no visitation. The funeral
service will be celebrated at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre,
88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) on Friday January 12 at
2 pm. Interment will be at Frenette Columbarium, Moncton. In
memory of Alice, and in lieu of flowers, a contribution to the
Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
