Sister Rose Mary Mombourquette, in religion Sister Anthony
Marie, f.j., of Monarch Hall in Riverview, passed away on December 21,
2023 at The Moncton Hospital. She was 92 years old, and in the 72nd
year with the congregation of Les Filles de Jésus.
Born in L’Ardoise, NS, she was the daughter of the
late Antoine and Clara (Sampson) Mombourquette.
Rose Mary was a well-liked teacher during her 27 years of
teaching in Nova Scotia. She then worked mostly in New
Brunswick in pastoral ministry as well as in catechism in
Chéticamp, NS. In 2009, when she retired, she
came to live in Canterbury Hall, Riverview, NB.
Besides her religious family members, she is survived by one
adopted brother, Alfred Sampson of Hamilton, ON; as well as several
nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate
family.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by five brothers:
Joseph, Frank, Daniel, Raymond, and Walter.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff
in Canterbury Hall for their very good care of Rose Mary during the 14
years she lived there.
The community will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral
and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) where
the funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday January 6 at 10 am.
Visiting hours are Saturday January 6 from 9 am until time of funeral.
