Rita Surette, 98, wife of the late Raymond Surette, formerly of Dieppe, passed away on December 10, 2023. Born in Beaumont, NB, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Boudreau and the late Héloise (Gaudet) Boudreau.

She is survived by four children: Christophe (Louise LeBreton) of Dieppe, Debby (late Mike Arsenault) of Dalhousie, Louie (Denise Cormier) of Calgary, and Marc (Isabelle Cormier) of Saint-Paul-de-Kent; her 10 grandchildren: Céline (Emmanuel Roy), Andrée (David Gollan), Jean-Christophe (Virginie Firlotte), Michelle (Rémi Hickey), Danielle (Andrew Whitby), Lise (Mike Thom), Josée (Damian Mellsen), Madeleine (Logan Fidler), Ève Lynn and Myrenne; her 10 great-grandchildren; her brothers: Maurice (feu Doris) and Roger (Clémentine); as well as several nephews and nieces.

Besides her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Georges and her sisters: Catherine, Bernice and Exilia; as well as her granddaughter, Françoise.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire care team at Grass Home in Riverview, where she lived the last 15 years of her life.  From the beginning to the end of her stay, she was always cared for by kind-hearted people with dignity and grace.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) where the funeral service will be celebrated on Monday December 18 at 11 am. Visiting hours are Sunday from 2 to 4 pm only. The funeral service will be streamed live; to view the funeral, go to Rita’s obituary on the Frenette Website.
