Jacqueline Gould (née Mooney), passed away peacefully on December 13, 2023 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre.

Jacqueline spent her entire working life in the service of others. She graduated from the Hôtel-Dieu Nursing School in Tracadie, NB, in 1961 as a Registered Nursing Assistant (known today as LPN). She worked in hospitals in Moncton, Montreal, Barrie, Toronto, Chatham, Pembroke, and Oromocto, before settling in Bouctouche, NB, and worked at Le Manoir St-Jean-Baptiste until her retirement in 1999.

Jacqueline met the love of her life, Robert, in 1962 at 18 years old. On October 17, 1964, they said I do and spent 59 years as husband and wife. She followed him to three provinces and Germany during his military career and settled in her birth place of Saint-Thomas-de-Kent in 1986 where they lived for 37 years. Earlier this year, they moved to Dieppe, NB.

Besides her husband, Jacqueline is survived by her three children: Pierre of Shediac, Michael of Cocagne and Natalie (James) of Moncton. She was blessed with two grandchildren: Sarah of Oromocto, and Riley of Fort MacPherson, NWT. She also leaves behind a special "daughter-in-law", Christina of Oromocto, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her parents, Martin and Eugénie (LeBlanc) Mooney, predeceased her in 1993 and 1979.

A celebration mass for Jacqueline’s life will be held at St-Jean-Baptiste Church, 19 Irving Boulevard, Bouctouche, on Monday December 18 at 3 pm. There will be no visitation at the request of the family. Interment will be in parish cemetery. In memory of Jacqueline, a contribution to the CHU Dumont Foundation (oncology), NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (506-858-1900).
