Gérard Gagnon,
96, passed away on Monday December 11, 2023, at Castel Des Flots
Bleus, Cap-Pelé. Born in Dupuis Corner, he was the son of
the late Gaspard and Martha (LeBlanc)
Gagnon.
He was a member of the
Golden Age Club of Grand-Barachois, a member of the Knights of
Columbus 3rd Degree, a past Grand Knight of
Père Edgar T. LeBlanc council #10254, a member of the
4th Degree, and a founding member of Knights of
Columbus council #10254 - Père Edgar T.
LeBlanc.
He is survived by three
daughters: Annette Clements (Rick) of Grand-Barachois, Jeannine Moore
(Wade), and Francine Long (Michael) both of Saint-John; three sons:
Michael (Marianne) of Alliston, ON, Donald (Maureen) of Quispamsis,
and Paul (Lynn) of Halifax, NS; one sister, Yolande Leger of
Grand-Barachois; one brother, Edgar (Claudette) of Shediac; 11
grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and
nephews.
He was predeceased by his
wife, Huberte Gagnon (2020); five sisters: Dorilla Gagnon, Huberte
Cormier, Juliette Gagnon, Irène Leger, and Aurore
Gaudet.
The family will receive
condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street,
Shediac (506-532-3297) on Sunday, December 17 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to
9 pm only. The funeral service will be celebrated at St-Henri de
Barachois R.C. Church, 1356 route 133, Grand-Barachois on Monday
December 18 at 10:30 am. The funeral service will be
videotaped, and the video will be available on
Gérard’s obituary on the Frenette Website at the
end of the day Monday. Interment will be in the St-Henri de
Barachois cemetery in Grand-Barachois.
Due to technical
difficulties the video will be uploaded Tuesday December 19 by the end
of the day.
