Jeannette Richard, 81, of Dieppe, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday December 1, 2023 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born in Scoudouc, she was the daughter of the late Edouard and Rosée (Belliveau) Bourque.

Prior to her retirement, Jeannette worked in accounting for the Government of Canada. Her favourite hobbies were traveling on bus tours, clogging and ceramic painting. A dedicated volunteer, she had spent countless hours volunteering at the Club d’Âge d’Or of Dieppe, the Capitol Theatre and a nursing home in Dieppe. A great cook and hostess with an exceptional joie de vivre, Jeannette was at her best when she was surrounded by her precious family and friends. She will be remembered by her contagious smile.

She is survived by one son, Michel (Nathalie) of Moncton; daughter-in-law, Janice Richard of Ste-Marie-de-Kent (late Serge); four grandchildren: Natacha (Doug), Mélanie (Jamie), Tanya, and Jacob; two sisters: Yvette Robillard (late Armand) and Huberte Richard (Roger), both of Fitchburg, ME; one sister-in-law, Florence Bourque of Moncton (late Valerie); as well as her nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Maxime (2021); one son, Serge (2017); two sisters: Lucille (Guy) and Marie (late Francis); and one brother, Valerie.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) where the funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday December 14 at 11 am. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm only. The funeral service will be streamed live; to view the funeral, go to Jeannette’s obituary on the Frenette Website. Interment will be in Frenette Columbarium in Moncton. In memory of Jeannette, a contribution to the CHU Dumont Foundation would be appreciated.
