It is with great sadness that the family announces that, Maria Bourque, age 97, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, November 28th, 2023, at the Villa Providence Shediac. Born in Petit-Cap N.B., she was the daughter of the late Alphée and Adèle (Landry) LeBlanc, originally from Tédiche N.B. She was also the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Maria was president of the "Renouveau Charismatique", member of the Golden Age Club and part of the parish choir. She also worked as a sales lady for Fuller Brush for many years. She loved singing and enjoyed bringing her nieces and nephews to see movies at the theater.
Maria will be sadly missed by her son, Bernard Boudreau of Moncton, a very special grandson Emmanuel, a special friend Janice (mother of Emmanuel) and a sister-in-law Rhéa LeBlanc of Shediac.
Predeceased by her first husband Achille Boudreau (1981), her second husband Gerard Bourque (1996), and her third husband Gerard Landry (2017); seven sisters: Loretta (Eugène), Doris (Ronald), Généva (Alderic), Marguerite (Willy), Imelda, May (George), and baby Anita; eight brothers: Albert (Corinne), Alonzo (Edna), Roméo, Adélard (Antoinette), Alexandre (Nistelle), Régis, Aristid (Ethel) and baby Alonzo.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 2642 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé, on Thursday, November 30 from 12:00 to 1:45 pm. The funeral will be celebrated at the Ste-Thérèse-d’Avila R. C. Church, 2648 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé at 2:00 pm. Internment in the parish cemetery.
The funeral mass will be videotaped, and the video will be available on Maria’s obituary on our website by the end of the day.
Maria's family would like to extend special thanks to all the staff at Villa Providence (Colombe) for the care and compassion provided to her the past few years. We greatly appreciate everything you have done while Maria was in your care.
A special thank you to Gisèle, Jacinthe, Bernadette, and Marina for the wonderful care and support they gave to Maria.
