David Edward MacNevin, 77, residing at The Briarlea in Moncton, passed away on Sunday November 26, 2023 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Ralph and Dorothy (Horsman) MacNevin.

David, a well-respected man, owned and operated MacNevin Excavation Ltd. for 38 years.  He was a member of the St. John’s United Church where he was a part of the men’s choir.  He was always very generous with everything he did and always wanted the best for everyone. He appreciated the little things in life and as he often loved to say: "I had a great life!"

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Claire (Léger); his daughter, Lori Mangan (Phil) of Kingston, ON, and their children: Wes, Millie and Watson; his son, Ryan (Danika) of Red Deer, AB; his extended family: his mother-in-law, Alice Léger of Moncton; two sisters-in-law: Paulette LeBlanc (Mike) of Old Orchard, ME, and Linda Weatherbie (Monty) of Moncton; and one brother-in-law, Léandre (Diane) of Moncton; two special nephews: Alex and Justin, and his niece, Chantal Léger; one great-niece, Emilie; as well as many friends.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his father-in-law, Vital Léger.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the wonderful care David received from doctors, nurses and support staff of The Briarlea, Units 5200 and Palliative Care at The Moncton Hospital.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) on Thursday from 7 to 9 pm only.
