Leonard LeBlanc, 84, of Bouctouche Bay, passed away on November 5, 2023 surrounded by his family, at the Stella-Maris-de-Kent Hospital in Sainte-Anne-de-Kent. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Alphée and Herméline (nee Hébert) LeBlanc.

Immediately after high school, he joined the RCMP, where he served in Ottawa, ON, and Nova Scotia. After the RCMP, his career spanned everything from farming to consulting and ended with a 17-year period with the Federal Government, serving the Departments of Fisheries, Indian Affairs and Veterans Affairs. He retired in 1995 to Bouctouche Bay, NB, where he enjoyed a long retirement.

Leonard’s active imagination and keen sense of humour made him a great storyteller. He loved starting new projects, but not necessarily finishing them. Although he suffered from a long illness, he never used that as an excuse to sit on the sidelines. He was a man of deep faith and that gave him strength.

Leonard is survived by his daughters: Michele and Jana (Jacob); his son, Marc (Jane); his step-daughters: Isabelle and Stephanie; his grandchildren: Sarah, Zachary, and Michael; his sisters: Marcella (late Maurice) and Yolande (late Paul); his brother, Yvon (Claire); as well as his nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by four siblings: Gerry, Lorraine, Norma, and infant Emile; and one nephew, Jean.

In accordance to Leonard’s wishes, there will be no visitation. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Sainte-Anne-de-Kent Roman Catholic church, 7611 Route 134, Sainte-Anne-de-Kent on Monday November 13 at 11 am. Private burial will follow in Bouctouche cemetery. In memory of Leonard, instead of flowers, a mass offering or a contribution to the Canadian Lung Association would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (506-858-1900).
