Surrounded by her family, Anne Marie peacefully went to join her beloved parents, Lucien Simon and Emma Biesel and her brother, Jean-Pierre.

She leaves to mourn her husband of over 59 years, Normand, her three children: Xavier (Patricia), Stéphanie (Marc) and Émilie (Yan); her eight grandchildren: Andrea, Marie-Laure, Madeleine, Nicolas, Alice, Alexandre, Gabriel, and Marianne, her sister, Claude Simon, her sisters-in-law: Claire, Yvonne and Régina Robichaud, her nephews, Julien and Jean- Baptiste Simon, their wives and children, her 20 nieces and nephews from the Robichaud family, her cousins and all her family and friends.

Ambassador of French culture in Acadia where she came in 1964 to introduce Acadian students to the poetry of Verlaine and Rimbaud, Anne Marie was professor emeritus at the University of Moncton and Knight of Arts and Letters.

The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Center, 396 Main Street, Shediac, on Friday, November 10, 2023, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. only. The funeral will be celebrated at the Saint-Henri de Barachois church, 1356 Route 133, Grand-Barachois, on November 11, 2023, at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Grand-Barachois cemetery.

In memory of Anne Marie, a donation to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated.

Cremation and funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Shediac (506 532-3297).
