WO (Ret’d) Ivan Arsenault, CD, 86, of Moncton and formerly of Dieppe, passed away on Wednesday October 25, 2023 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Urbainville, P.E.I., he was the son of the late Ernest and Clara (Arsenault) Arsenault.

Ivan was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force as an air defense technician and then was a commissionaire for 19 years.

He is survived by two sons: Gilles (Lynn) of Halifax, NS, and Pierre (Jill) of Moncton; his four grandchildren: Alexandre (Nikki) of Dartmouth, NS, Evan (Alison) of Toronto, ON, Eleanor "Elea" and Annabelle, both of Moncton; three sisters: Bernice LeBlanc (late Edouard) of Barrie, ON, Rita Arsenault of Moncton, and Claudette Babineau (Gérald) of Notre-Dame; three brothers: Eric (late Marie) of British Columbia, and Leonard (Patricia) of Renous; one sister-in-law, Theresa Arsenault of Moncton; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Claudette Boudreau (2020); and one brother, Alcide (2022).

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) where the funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday October 31 at 11 am. Visiting hours are Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm only. The funeral service will be streamed live; to view the funeral, go to his obituary on the Frenette Website. Interment will be at Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of Ivan, a contribution to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
