Marie Babin Gallant passed away, peacefully in her sleep, on Tuesday October 10, 2023, at Wellington Park Long Term Care Home in Burlington, ON, where she has been a resident since December 2018.

Born in Scoudouc, she was the daughter of the late Philias and the late Annie (Melanson) Babin. Marie moved to Montreal in 1955 where she lived most of her adult life.

She is survived by her husband, Emile Gallant; a son, Pierre (Erika) of Burlington, ON; two grandsons: Roberto and Rodrigo; a sister, Exelda of Burlington, ON, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by 10 siblings: Yvonne, Irene, Alfreda, Geneva, Eustache, Ovila, Leandre, Emery, Oscar, and Laurie.

A chapel service will be held at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac, on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 11 am. Visitation will be on Friday evening from 7 pm to 9 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 10:45 am. The cortège will travel to the Grande-Digue cemetery for the burial of ashes.
