Camille Léger, 90, formerly of Cormier-Village, passed away at the Villa Providence, Shediac on Wednesday, October 11th, 2023. Born in Haute-Aboujagane, he was the son of the late Sifroid and Imelda (Johnson) Léger.
Camille was owner/operator of Camille Léger Ltd. He was a devoted businessman. At over 80 years old, you could still find him on job sites with his sons doing what he enjoyed. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. All through life, Camille was known for his dedication to his community and his volunteer work. He was always ready to help in moments of need. He had a very generous heart, and he was respected by many people.
He enjoyed dancing, traveling and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Clémence, of Shediac; two daughters: Diane Léger of Cormier-Village and Carole Pellerin (Denis) of Shediac: four sons: Normand (Charline Gaudet) of Shediac, Michel (Rachel), Gilles (France) and Allain (Carole) all of Cormier-Village; one sister, Rosella McGraw (late Ulysse) of Cormier-Village; six brothers: Mgr. Ernest of Ontario, Ola (Nathalie) of Shediac, Omer (Blanche) of Halifax NS, Onile (Jeannette) of Moncton, Eric of Dieppe and Roger (Maria) of Moncton; two sisters-in-law Simonne (late Alfred) Boudreau and Orena Leger all from Little Cap, one son-in-law, Charles (Doris) of Lakeburn, 15 grandchildren: Renée, Mélanie, Monique, Marc, Julien, Rebecca, Sébastien, Jérémie, Marie-Josée, André-Michel, Véronique, Sylvie, Alexandre, Cody and Nadia, nine great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son Jean-Guy, a daughter Helene, a sister, Rita Léger and two brothers: Emerie (Rose) and Donald (Annette), three daughters-in-law: Simonne Leger, Patricia Leger, Diane LeBlanc and two granddaughters: Isabelle and Sylvie.
He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac on Tuesday, October 17th from 2 pm to 4 pm and from 7pm to 9 pm, Wednesday, October 18th from 9 am until time of departure at 10 am. The funeral will be held in the Sacré-Coeur R. C. church, 944 route 933, Haute-Aboujagane at 10:30 am. Mgr. Ernest will be the celebrant.
In memory of Camille, a contribution to the parish cemetery in Haute-Aboujagane or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
