Richard J. Landry, P. Eng., 71, of Moncton, passed away peacefully on Sunday October 8, 2023 at The Moncton Hospital, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.  Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Aimé and Rose (LeBlanc) Landry.

After graduating at Université de Moncton in 1974, Richard worked as a civil engineer for 35 years with the City of Moncton Engineering and Public Works Departments. He was a past member of the Lions Club and the Hub City RV Club. He loved playing cards, especially 200's.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 47 years, Janet (Lounder); three children: Tara Christensen (Leif) of Prince Edward Island, Matthew Landry (Wendy) of Alberta, and Chris Landry of British Columbia; three grandchildren: Maya, Ben, and Emmett; six siblings: Paul (Daria), Raymond (Rita), Lucille Kelly (Frank), Phyllis Barkhouse (Jerry), Denise MacDougall (Maurice), and Francine Preston, all of Moncton; his sister-in-law, Andréa Landry; brother-in-law, James Stymest; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Beside his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Jacqueline Stymest, and brother, David Landry.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) where the funeral service will be celebrated on Friday October 13 at 2 pm. Visiting hours are Thursday from 6 to 9 pm only. In memory of Richard, a contribution to the Friends of The Moncton Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care) would be appreciated.
