Eugene George, 80, of Moncton, passed away on Friday September 29, 2023 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born in Shediac, he was the son of the late Edouard and Alma (Belliveau) LeBlanc.

A free spirit and nature lover, Eugene had a strong independent will and was concerned with the wellbeing and health of others. He was a yoga teacher for over 40 years. He was a musician from an early age, having taught at Hawaii School of Music in the beginning of his career and performing live in Shediac.  Instilling his love of music was a big part of family life.

He is survived by his daughter, Kerri George of Moncton; his son, Ian George (Angie) of St. John’s, NL; one granddaughter, Olivia; three siblings: Lucie Colucci of Edmonton, AB, Norbert "Bert" LeBlanc (Louise) of Wasa, BC, and Alphonse LeBlanc of Shediac; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by 13 siblings: Edith, Emile, Albert, Joe, Paul-Édouard, Alphée, Léandre, Généva, Lucien, and infants Généva, Eugène, George, and Camille.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) on Saturday October 14, 2023 from 2 to 4 pm only. Come and celebrate Eugene’s life by wearing colors. There will be no funeral service. In memory of Eugene, a contribution to a homeless charity would be appreciated.
