It is with very deep sadness that we announce the death of Dr. Eugène LeBlanc on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre. He was 78 years old. He was the son of the late Ouelet LeBlanc and the late Ella Gaudet, née Leger.

Dr. LeBlanc practiced for 42 years in the provinces of Quebec, Ontario and New Brunswick as a psychologist. Every day, he went to his office hoping to do his best to help his patients. He was also a professor at the Université de Moncton for several years.

In retirement, he enjoyed traveling, playing golf and billiards, and harvesting crops from his garden. Recently, he realized his dream as a writer with the publication of his book entitled " Un été à la baie de Shediac " which expresses his passion and love for his wife and nature.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Minerva LeBlanc, née Caissie; his two daughters: Nicole Cochrane (Todd Hickey) and Gisèle Martin (Steve Martin); three grandchildren: Kayla Spencer, Marcel Martin and Gabriel Martin; three great-grandchildren: Aubrey, Ayden and Zander, a brother Henry (Diane Leblanc) from Dieppe.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Jeannette, née Leger.

The celebration of his life will be held on Thursday October 12, 2023 at the Shediac Multipurpose Centre, 58 Festival Street, Shediac from 7 pm to 9 pm. In memory of Eugène, a contribution to ECO-VISION Memramcook or the New Brunswick Lung Association would be appreciated.

Cremation and funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Center, Shediac (532-3297).
