Roger Alfred Bourque, 63, of Ottawa, ON, and formerly of Moncton, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at the Montfort Hospital in Ottawa. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Gérard and Euclida (LeBlanc) Bourque.

In his younger years, Roger was a goaltender for several hockey teams, and was inducted in the Moncton Sports Hall of Fame for his participation in the sport. He enjoyed a long career with Via Rail. Roger loved traveling and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Evelyn Osano; one sister, Bernadette (Phil Jabalee); one brother, Paul; one nephew, Teaville (Maxime); as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one brother, Louis (Marsha).

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) on Friday October 6 at 11 am. Visiting hours are Friday October 6 from 10 am until time of funeral. The funeral service will be streamed live; to view the funeral, go to his obituary on Frenette website. Interment will be at Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of Roger, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
