It is with broken hearts and an abundance of love that we announce the passing of our dear mother Eveline LeBlanc (née Cormier) on August 29, 2023 at Dr. Georges-L- Dumont UHC at age 101.  We are filled with gratitude to have had her constant loving presence in our lives for all those years.

Mum was born on February 12, 1922 to Alva (Landry) and Damien Cormier in Memramcook, New Brunswick.

Our mother lived independently in her home until January 2023 when she had a fall.  After a short stay in the hospital she moved to L’Auberge du Soleil in Dieppe where she received excellent care and made meaningful mutual attachments with her caregivers.

Determined to spend time at her cottage, Mum and her physiotherapist worked hard to regain her mobility.  As a result she was able to spend some time at her cottage in Cap Pelé in early summer.

Mother was generous, compassionate, optimistic and saw the good in everyone. She had a strong faith and lived by it daily. She was an amazing cook and baker and loved being in her kitchen. She had a green thumb and at one time took a floral arrangement course. Mum enjoyed many fishing trips to mark special family occasions. She travelled to Seattle in her 90ies and celebrated her 96th birthday in Florida.  Mum read avidly with a boundless and natural curiosity.  She was a sharp and enthusiastic card player and played until a week before her passing.  Our mother loved fashion and took great pride and care in her appearance.

In 2017, she was predeceased by her husband, Paul-Emile LeBlanc.  She is survived by her children: Charles (Ghislaine Allard), Paulette (Jean-François Boucher), Bernard (Ronald Karras), Joseph (Steve Smith), Gisèle (Rob Emin), Damien (Marcia), Paul and Charlotte (Patrick Wright); her grandchildren: Kelly McDonald-Poss (Kev), Nathalie LeBlanc, Marie-Josée LeBlanc (Patryck Bernier), Jessica Emin, Serge and Stéphane LeBlanc (Chantel), Claudia (Sébastien) and Laurence Boucher; her great-grandchildren: James Bellerose, Maïka and Lorick Bernier; three sisters: Marie (late Ralph «Babe»), Emma (Cleophas) and Jeannette (late Maurice); one brother, Damien (Aline); as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her sisters and brothers: Léo, Wilfred, Théosane, Valerie, Alonzo, Florence, Alyre, Bernard and Owen.

We wish to thank Dr. Ginette Sika, Dr. Chantal Gallant, and Dr. Bernard Godin for their extraordinary care.  We would also like to thank GLD hospital staff and Auberge du Soleil staff for their compassion and care.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) on Tuesday September 5 from 2 to 4 pm only.  The funeral mass will be celebrated at Christ-Roi Church, 300 Dominion Street, Moncton on Wednesday September 6 at 11 am. Interment will be at Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of Eveline, a contribution to the CHU Dumont Foundation (Tree of Hope) would be appreciated.
