Shirley Lillian Clement, 88, resident of Villa du Repos in
Moncton, passed away on Monday August 28, 2023 at The Moncton
Hospital. Born in Atholville, she was the daughter of the late Joseph
T. and Isabel (Richardson) Kilby.
Shirley began her career as a legal secretary, eventually
retiring as court stenographer for the Province of New Brunswick. She
was a long-time member of St. Bernard parish, past-member of the CWL,
and member of the Holy Family Seniors Club. She was involved with
pastoral care at St. Bernard’s for many years and also
volunteered at the Karing Kitchen.
Shirley is survived by four children: Patricia Ryan, Michael
Clement, Susan Clement and Louise Clement; two grandchildren: Amy
(Jeff) and Sean (Kristen); four great-grandchildren: Isabella, Quinn,
Kaylee, and Ella; two siblings: Ken Kilby (late Pat), Doreen
"Tootsie" Bérubé (late Martin); one
sister-in-law, Perri Kilby; as well as many nieces and
nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Aimé Clement;
one sister, Linda; one brother, John; and a special friend, Duncan
Graham.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral
Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) on Thursday from 6 to
8 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St.
Bernard’s Catholic Church, 43 Botsford Street, Moncton on
Friday September 1 at 11 am. Interment will be at Our Lady of Calvary
cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of Shirley, a contribution to the N.B.
Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor’s
choice would be appreciated.
