On July 18, 2023, a special lady named Delfina was called
back to heaven leaving us with an empty space in our lives but a heart
filled with beautiful and unforgettable memories of a person we
lovingly called Mamma, Nonina, Nannie, and Tata.
She was born in the village of Elce, Italy in 1929 to Gaetano
and Filomena Tittarelli. She immigrated to Canada in 1957 to rejoin
family members already in Moncton and, here, married Tom
Cormier.
Delfina had a selfless love for her
famiglia and extended family, and friends, always
ready to cook you a meal, have a dance with you, or just sit, talk,
and laugh. With a heart of gold, and a never ending helping hand, she
enriched everyone she met with her presence and for that we will all
be so grateful.
She will be sadly missed by her devoted and cherished
children: Licia "Lucy" (Dale), Raymond (Eva), John (Sylvia)
and Dorothy (Antoine), and beloved grandchildren and
great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and all the children she took
care of.
Delfina is survived by one sister, Domenica DiDomenico of
Moncton. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, seven
sisters and three brothers.
Rest in peace in heaven Mamma. We will always think of you
and carry you in our hearts. We will always love you.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and
Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) on Friday
July 21 from 6 to 8 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at
Christ-Roi Roman Catholic church, 300 Dominion Street, Moncton on
Saturday July 22 at 10:30 am. Pallbearers are Mark Cormier, Bobby
Cormier, Jonathan Gallant, Gino DiBonaventura, Luigi Marchetti, and
Chris Gallant. Interment will be at Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in
Dieppe. In memory of Delfina, a contribution to the Alzheimer Society
would be appreciated.
